The Territory’s marine environment is of global significance and our marinewildlife – our turtles, dolphins, dugongs, crocodiles, saw fish, sharks and rays – need protection. The Northern Territory Government has launched a new Marine WildWatch hotline (1800 453 941) for the public to use if they see marine animals at risk, stranded, entangled or if they need to report discarded fishing nets.
Fishing identity Andrew Ettingshausen has given his support to the new initiative and appears in a television commercial and print advertisement promoting the new hotline. For more information about Marine WildWatch, visit: www.nt.gov.au/marinewildwatch
